When is the next Conference Celebrating Women in Statistics?
We are thinking that the next conference will be in 2016. The exact date is still under debate. We know May is a busy month for graduations. We are thinking that October might be better.
How can I volunteer for the next Conference Celebrating Women in Statistics?
Help is most needed for fund-raising. If you are willing to help by providing corporate contact, feel free to send me an email.
I’m thinking of a major in statistical science, can we meet?
If you would like to meet to discuss the statistical science major send me an email that suggests 3-4 times that work with your schedule. I’ll pick one that meshes with my schedule. Also visit our website as many of your questions can probably be answered there. Of course, I’m always happy to meet!
Can you write me a recommendation letter?
I write dozens of letters each year. Before asking me, think about whether I know you well enough that I can write a detailed letter about who you are and your strengths. If the answer is yes and I agree, you will need to provide me with a resume, information on the position or school to which you are applying, a statement of why you want this position or school, and a transcript. Also provide a spreadsheet with all names, addresses, and due dates to which the letter must be sent. While this is often a ‘list in progress,’ it helps me if this is mostly complete well ahead of the first due date.
Can I take your class for professional development?
To take my class you must at least register for a formal audit. Most of my classes are taught in a flipped manner, so even if auditing, you are expected to do all work and contribute fully to class exercises and team projects.
